Ponds Waterfalls Streams and Fountains
Water features are becoming increasingly popular to the commercial and residential landscape. Most ancient civilizations focused around water as we do to the present day. We of course have modern day plumbing, but what about the other benefits of water.
From little on we have a fascination with watching moving water. I recently made a trip to the Mitchel Park Domes and was amazed at the amount of people who stood on the bridge to look down at the water or the waterfall. What could be a better piece of art work than moving water.
Water features attract all kinds of wildlife including songbirds wading for an early morning bath, deer coming for a late afternoon drink and frogs sunning themselves near the waters edge at mid day.
The sounds of cascading or flowing water whether it is a slow running stream, fountain or falls gives a calm soothing feeling.
Studies have shown that there are health benefits to water features. Listening to the sound of water helps reduce anxiety, relieve stress and increases motivation and in turn may give you a more positive outlook on life and even boost confidence. Reducing anxiety and stress helps to reduce the risk of heart disease, obesity and many other diseases.
Sounds like a water feature is a good investment. I myself have one and love it. I think you would love one too. Why you ask? Every person I have done a water feature for has loved it. I hear things such as: we could not even imagine our yard without it or how much they love watching the birds in the morning while enjoying a cup of coffee.
